Runnin’ Shine is a hot, up-and-coming country act with its members hailing from Virginia by way of Alabama, New York, and New Hampshire. Playing together since February of 2015, Veer Magazine 2019 Country Artist of the Year and Great American Song Writing Finalist, Runnin’ Shine is a tight four-piece comprised of Janice Chandler on vocals and acoustic guitar, Richie Bohr on lead electric guitar, Bill Snow on drums, and Jim Cahoon on the bass. Brought together by God’s grace, a few mutual friends, and the love of country music, each player brings a powerful energy, uniqueness and experience to the band. Their thoughtful originals and clever mashups, which combine many songs from different genres into one, seamless song, culminate in a style that they consider to be “rage country”, which is country with rock and roll swagger. Even people who just plain don’t like county music have a good ol’ time at every Runnin’ Shine show. Fans have said that their sound isn’t like your typical, run-of-the-mill country music, and they really know how to bring the party. Just like that jar your buddy has under the floorboard of his truck, Runnin’ Shine will hit you hard with a good time you won’t soon forget!

With their release of the full-length album “So There We Were,” Runnin’ Shine shares insight into (mostly) true stories that the band members have experienced. From a few crazy nights on the town where there was way too much tequila involved, all the way to a car wreck in the Taco Bell drive thru, the songs written by Janice Chandler let the listener directly into her heart which is filled with tenderness as well as rage. They are straight forward, no-bull lyrics that tell you exactly how it is, just the way country music should; through the stories we have lived.

Runnin’ Shine’s resume includes opening for Lanco, Parmelee, Billy Ray Cyrus, Michael Ray, Radio Romance, and Colt Ford. They have also played at the VIP lounge at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach for Country Superstars such as Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Combs, Brantley Gilbert and Luke Bryan. Runnin’ Shine has headlined at festivals such as the Chesapeake Jubilee and the Knotts Island Peach Festival.
